The Boat

The "boat" or hole in the water into which me and my "admiral" Patti will throw money, is a 1993 Bayliner Ciera 2556 Command Bridge. It has a Mercruiser 350 with a Bravo 2 outdrive. The guy I'm buying it from has kept it immaculate. The only reason he's getting rid of it is the fact that he's upgrading toys to a amphibious seaplane.
This will be Patti and my first boat and as it's only got the one engine I expect it'll be a while before we feel comfortable enough to take it to the Bahamas. That is okay though as there is plenty of close-in off shore trips and the Inter Coastal Waterway(ICW) and the St John's that we can explore in the mean time.
We made the decision to buy on the 4th of May, 1 day before our 3rd anniversary. We (read that as I) had been wanting a boat for years and my lovely wife finally consented and made me very happy. Now I just have to prove to her that it will be fun for her as well too.
